The Denver Cougars are needing host families for the up coming summer.  Please contact Mark Cerullo at 303-725-1125 for more information.  The Cougars finished with a 11-17 league record and 15-22 overall last season. With this league record the Cougars finished in sixth place in league play for 2022.  Our 2022 squad was young and very athletic and gained experience throughout the summer.  We did earn a at large birth to the NBC World Series.  This summer we are striving to return and give our players a special opportunity and exposure.  Twelve years ago we finished third in the nation,  to view click on the NBC World Series tab to the left.  Returning back to this prestigious NBC World Series tournament with a new format will be a challenge.  At the NBC World Series will get the opportunity to face some of the best teams and players in the nation.  The team and players will get great exposure from various major league scouts and colleges for future opportunities.  The 2010 World Series was the best finish the the Cougars have ever had or any Colorado team, taking 3rd place.  Go to the NBC World Series tab to see the results.  We had nine players sign professional contracts and some players elevate their college careers to D-1 levels from exposure at the World Series.  This season will be our 34th year and we are going to maintain our strong program by turning our roster over this summer and adding very talented players.  Each year we bring in coaches from all over the country to assist with the program and develop players.  This season we will have Chaz Lopez and Mark Lanchanzky help coaching the team.  Coach Lanchanzky "Zky" played for the Cougars years ago and help build the program to what we are today.  Zky has coached at many levels and he is a great addition to the program.  Coach Lopez has coached at different levels and now is part of the Adams State University. We have had 39 players throughout our history that have reached the MLB at different levels.  We also have many past and present players that are playing at the Independent and oversees levels.  Mark Cerullo will be the General Manager and Head Coach.

The 2023 season brings some new faces and challenges to the Cougars.  I believe that this team has the potential to regain and maintain our status as one of the nations finest summer programs.  Our goals are still the same to return to the National Baseball Congress World Series and win. We will be returning six players from the Cougars last summer team.  That will provide leadership and instill the Cougar way.  New additions in all areas we feel that our defense and team speed will be improved, while adding some punch to our line up, flash backs of the old Cougars. We are also adding some young arms to the pitching staff.  I feel that our staff will be even stronger and more balanced this year.  Not only are we adding talent to the roster, I truly believe that we will have great chemistry with this squad for years to come. The roster will be filled with players from various strong college programs from all levels.  This years schedule is a full one trying to reach over 45 games scheduled within the league and some outside games with the Independent teams.  By getting involved with these outside Leagues this will give the players exposure and experiences they could not get playing for another team over the summer.  Again our focus as a team will be to win the Rocky Mountain Baseball League and earn that hard to reach birth to the World Series in August.  Let's play ball!!!  Come out and see Cougars Baseball.
